Tartu University Chamber Choir is a youthful and dynamic concert choir of students, founded in 1971. Since 2001, the conductor of the choir is Triin Koch. The choir has received numerous prizes and awards, most recently the title of the Best Chamber Choir at the International Choir Festival “Tallinn 2017” and the title of The Choir of the Year in 2017. The repertoire of the choir consists of masterpieces of Estonian and foreign composers, including oratorial works with orchestra (Rachmaninov, Puccini, Tobias, Orff, Fauré…). Over the years, the choir and its conductor have initiated several scenic performances, combining music, poetry and dance.

Because of her thorough work with music and singers, the conductor Triin Koch, who leads also other choirs linked to Tartu University, is in high esteem among the Estonian choir people and has received the most sought-after prizes. Since 2007, she has conducted female and mixed choirs at Estonia’s famous all-nation singing festivals and is doing it again in 2019 as a chief of mixed choirs when the tradition celebrates its 150 years. She will also be the Chief conductor of Tartu Choir Festival in 2019.
